The site of 2 Devonport Road development is situated in the Tauranga CBD at 2 Devonport Road. The development comprises a new 7 story building with mixed retail and commercial use. The building foundation concept was to adopt a basement slab resting on 1200mm diameter bored concrete piles constructed to a max depth of 46m with bentonite slurry support.
Project description
Our scope consisted of the construction of 24nr 1200mm diameter rotary bored piles to an average depth of 40m. The soft sandy soils found onsite necessitated the use of bentonite support fluid to ensure bore stability during excavation.
